Cycle 3 was a blast!

Cycle 3 was a great experience. Talk about what you did here.

Over 30 people came together for great conversations and gaming goodness. There’s nothing quite like hanging out with a group of people who share your interests, share great stories and getting to game all in the same day.

    Hi Joshua,

I had a great time. It was most excellent to try out Black Cadillacs with some new friends — even better, I’ve confirmed that a rules change I was contemplating isn’t an improvement (back to the drawing board!)

If I’m not mistaken, you played in the Universalis game in the afternoon — how was that?

I did play Universalis in the evening. It was a truly different (and awesome) RPG. Never seen or heard about anything like it. There’s no Game Master, or rather all the Players are Game Masters. In some ways its a lot like collectively brainstorming a movie script or something like that . . . Except will some neat rules.

We ended up with a gritty Sci-Fi game, on a ship orbiting an unihabited planet. The ship was using crimals to test the livability of the planet. When the AI on the ship went nuts. Good times.

The game of course could have been anything all the players agreed on. That’s why its call Universalis. Darn, writing about it wants to make me play it again.

Hey Joshua, glad to hear about some Universalis play. Feel free to post about your play at the Uni forum at http://www.indie-rgps.com I could use some new material for the web page.

And “collectively brainstorming a movie script” is exactly how it feels to me when I play. In fact, its actually been used to that purpose.
