Cycle 1 - Post Mortem

Hey GPOers!

It’s time to talk a bit about how things went.

In general, I think that it was a great day.  I know that I had fun.

Topics we should talk about (feel free to expand this!):

  1. the venue
  2. the games
  3. the schedule, or lack thereof
  4. how to grow the event

I had a blast.  Thanks to everyone who came out.  Special thanks to M Jason and Fraser, who both ran rockin’ games of Lacuna and Savage Worlds.  Extra big thanks to Lee-Anne and Vanessa, who shouldered more than their fair share of the “gettin’ shit done” load.

Oh, I had a kick-ass time at the Dust Devils game.  Thanks for playing with me.  I’ll talk more about that later.

Bed….

“I have a dream…”

I want a venue for Go-Play Ottawa that’s central(ish), is friendly to all modes of transit (pedestrian, public & car), doesn’t scream “dank gamer dungeon”, and won’t cost an arm and a leg.

I was hoping to use a community room at a Your Independent Grocer or Great Canadian Superstore, because they’re bright, airy, have ample parking and oodles of food, snacks & drinks on site.  Unfortunately, they’re hella-expensive, unless you’re a registered charity, in which case, they’re free.

I’m thinking allying ourselves with the Ottawa Boys & Girls club.  I’m not particularly great at pitching this sort of stuff to unknown strangers.  Who wants to help?
