Cycle 4. July 25. Now serving baby elephant.

Saturday, July 11th, 2009

The date is selected July 25, why well not may people voted and it’s the furthest date away with the most votes, so there’s prep time to pull it off. Now lets start annoucing what we’ll be bringing. I got the New Wallace game Steam, rails to riches, just waiting for its first table and I’ll bring a classic though probably not civilization this time. In other words, let the games begin.

Cycle 3 - Gearing Up

Tuesday, January 13th, 2009

Hey GPOers!

It’s that time again. GPO cycle 3, aka “The Slushy Maelstrom” is about a month or so away. We’ve got some business to attend to.

  • Let’s pick a date. All hail the Doodle poll! Please vote - it makes picking a date much easier.
  • Let’s pimp some games! To do this, please register as a user at the ‘blog (if you aren’t already). Then, please post a comment (even a “Hey, it’s me, please approve me!” comment on this thread is OK.) I’ll upgrade your account to “Author”, which will allow you to start your own threads. One pimp-thread per game, please!
  • If we need to, we can talk about scheduling. However, my feeling is that the schedule from Cycle 2 worked pretty well (11am socializing, 12noon first game begins, 4pm supper break, 5pm second game begins.)
  • Barring massive interest, I don’t see any reason to abandon the Desmarais Building as a venue.

A Call to Arms, and a Challenge!

Monday, June 2nd, 2008

Hey GPOers!

I’d like to say how great it is to see this thing starting to take shape. It’s developing a character of its own, and I’m very happy to see people stepping up and putting some thought into making GPO a great event.

Go us!

So, here’s the next challenge: Find More Gamers

What I’m planning on doing is digging outside my normal circles and inviting one or two people who I think might like what GPO will have to offer. I’m planning on taking some (personal self-esteem) risks and inviting at least one person who doesn’t self-identify as an RPG gamer.

Stuff I’ll be pointing them at:

  • The About page, because it’s a reasonable facsimile of what GPO is.
  • The Rules, in case they’re interested in posting here.
  • The Teasers Index, so they can see what’s available.

I bet you can do it too, and probably better than I can. Let’s do this!
